219 ASHAs have been trained in 7 bathes under 5 days training on Home Based Care during November and December 2011, supported by National Rural Health Mission.
Enrolled 161 rural youths in higher education stream in July 2011 and 120 in January 2012 session.
The organization has celebrated its silver jubilee on 4th November 2011. The report "On the silver Mark" has been published describing brief about 25 years of involvement in development sector. The periodical news bulleting "Yuva Barta" has also been unveiled on this occasion.
A regional consultation on "Early Childhood Development" was organized on 3rd November 2011. People from Angul, Subarnapur, Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Boudh have been participated. The news bulletin on ECD was unveiled on this occasion.
The district level advocacy workshop was also organized on 2nd November 2011 in collaboration with FANSA Odisha chapter.
54 units of blood have been collected in a blood donation camp on 1st November 2011 held at VYK in collaboration with Ama Odisha and Blood Bank Angul.

Community Health :: Eye Care Programme

A. Cataract Surgery(2007-2008)

In collaboration with Grace Vision Foundation, Angul an eye care unit has been established in the campus of JMJ hospital, Sambalpur for the purpose of providing services to the people with cataract, glaucoma and other diseases in Sambalpur, Angul, Jharsuguda and nearby districts of western Orissa. The program was supported by Right to Sight, Ireland. 1917 number of surgeries have been successfully conducted during December 2007 to March 2008.


   Cataract Surgery(2008-2009)

In collaboration with Grace Vision Foundation, Angul an eye care unit has been established in the campus of JMJ hospital, Sambalpur for the purpose of providing services to the people with cataract, glaucoma and other diseases in Sambalpur, Angul, Jharsuguda and nearby districts of western Orissa. The program was supported by Right to Sight, Ireland. 5000 number of surgeries has been successfully conducted during this year through GVF. We have also conducted cataract surgery of 40 people through DBCS Angul.

B. Vision Centre(2007-2008)

A vision centre has also been established at Boinda on 12th January 2008 to cater the need of eye care (to prevent avoidable blindness and child hood blindness) in Athmallik subdivision of Angul district covering almost 2 lakh populations. We render services for treatment for minor diseases and infections and provide spectacles and medicines with a nominal cost. We have provided services to 79 people at the centre and referred 38 people to DBCS, Angul and GV Netralaya, Sambalpur for cataract surgery. We have also organized school eye screening in three primary schools and checked 164 children out of which 9 children with eye defects were given treatment and follow up.

We render services for treatment for minor diseases and infections and provide spectacles and medicines with a nominal cost. We have provided services to 810 people at the centre and referred 120 people to DBCS, Angul and GV Netralaya, Sambalpur for cataract surgery. We have also organized school eye screening camps in four primary schools and checked more than 500 children out of which 27 children identified with eye defects were given treatment and follow up.

71 Village eye screening camps organized in Kishorenagar and Athmallik blocks, 2000 people were tested and 60 people were referred for cataract surgery to different hospitals.
