219 ASHAs have been trained in 7 bathes under 5 days training on Home Based Care during November and December 2011, supported by National Rural Health Mission.
Enrolled 161 rural youths in higher education stream in July 2011 and 120 in January 2012 session.
The organization has celebrated its silver jubilee on 4th November 2011. The report "On the silver Mark" has been published describing brief about 25 years of involvement in development sector. The periodical news bulleting "Yuva Barta" has also been unveiled on this occasion.
A regional consultation on "Early Childhood Development" was organized on 3rd November 2011. People from Angul, Subarnapur, Deogarh, Dhenkanal and Boudh have been participated. The news bulletin on ECD was unveiled on this occasion.
The district level advocacy workshop was also organized on 2nd November 2011 in collaboration with FANSA Odisha chapter.
54 units of blood have been collected in a blood donation camp on 1st November 2011 held at VYK in collaboration with Ama Odisha and Blood Bank Angul.

Youth Promotion

National Integration Camp

A 7 day national integration camp was organized at VYK training centre during 11 to 17 January 2009 with the support of Ministry of youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. About 150 youths from different parts of the state and outside were participated in the program. The program was inaugurated by Shri Sanjib Kumar Sahoo, Minister, School and Mass Education, Government of Orissa and Shri Rudra Narayan Pani, Rajya Sabha MP in the presence government and non government officials. The seven days program was covered with themes like national integration, youth promotion, government schemes and programs, right to information act, NREGA, health and sanitation, environmental issues, education, gandhian values and gram swarajya, women empowerment and nation building programs. Different cultural groups were also participated. The program was class room events, games, village meetings, work camps, shram dan, cultural events, exposure visits etc.


Youth Programme

From the very inception of the organization, it has given emphasis on promoting youths through training, exposure, sports and tournaments, competitions, library facilities etc. Activities taken up during the year as follows :

2 One year vision technician course by Kusumanjali Pradhan at LVPEI, Hyderabad and 1 month optician training for another at LAICO, Madurai. Bothe the program were supported by Right to Sight, Ireland
3 Organized rural cricket and foot ball tournament among the local groups
4 3 months accounting package (Tally) for 18 youths.
5 Inauguration of Youth Resource Centre on 12 January 2008 at VYK by the Addl. District Magistrate, The Project Director, DRDA and Sports Officer, Angul to cater the need of information and library services of the locality.
6 3 months optician training for 3 youths at LAICO, Madurai
7 Given one year training on vision technician to an educated needy girl at LVPEI, Hyderabad
8 Sponsor youth to participate in the short term trainings in and out side the state to build their capacity on a specific issue/program
9 Provide higher education and livelihood related education to at least 300 under privileged youths every year
10 Provide opportunity to the rural youths to participate in sports and game.
11 Provide Bibekananda Youth Award (Cash prize of Rs. 1000, memento and certificate)   to a best youth club every year
